Job Description:

 The Line Service Manager for Hillsboro Heli Academy is responsible for overseeing all line service operations, facility maintenance, and fueling systems that support the helicopter training program. This position ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations across all aspects of the rotor wing campus, including aircraft fueling, Building and grounds upkeep, and fleet maintenance of fuel trucks and support equipment.

 This role requires a hands-on leader with strong mechanical ability, a focus on regulatory compliance, and the leadership skills to manage and develop a team of line service employees.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead the rotor wing line service team to ensure safe and efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee fueling, towing, and ramp operations for all rotor wing aircraft.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of 100LL fuel, following all safety and environmental protocols.
  • Train and develop line service personnel on proper fueling procedures, safety standards, and aircraft support operations.
  • Maintain shift schedules and staffing coverage to meet operational needs.
  • Foster a professional, safety-first culture that supports HAA’s core values.

 Fuel Systems & Mechanical Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining fuel trucks including but not limited to pumps, filters, hoses, and nozzle assemblies, and vehicle servicing to ensure reliable fueling operations.
  • Oversee maintenance and compliance of the rotor wing fuel farm, including documentation, testing, and filter changes.
  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on fueling equipment and support vehicles.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, filter replacements, fuel testing, and equipment service intervals.
  • Ensure all fueling operations meet FAA, EPA, DEQ, and fire code compliance standards.

 Facilities Management:

  • Oversee general maintenance and cleanliness of hangars, ramps, and office spaces within the rotor wing facility.
  • Coordinate facility repairs and preventive maintenance, including but not limited to HVAC, Electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships for contracted maintenance services and ensure work is completed to company standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety and environmental regulations related to facilities and fueling operations.

 Leadership and Administration:

  • Manage and support a team of line service employees through consistent communication, training, and feedback.
  • Track and manage budgets for maintenance, supplies, and facility projects.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for rotor wing line operations and facility upkeep.
  • Participate in management meetings to identify and implement operational improvements.
  • Ensure consistent communication between the line team, flight operations, and leadership.

 Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a small to mid-sized team.
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain any related credentials.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical background with experience maintaining fueling equipment and vehicles.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in aviation line service, maintenance, or facilities management (rotor-wing environment preferred).
    • Familiarity with 100LL systems, and SPCC requirements.
    • Technical or mechanical certifications related to fueling systems, engines, or facility maintenance.
    • Willing to train the right candidate.

 Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in hangar, ramp, and outdoor environments with frequent exposure to weather and aircraft activity.
  • Requires ability to lift 50+ lbs and work around fuel and moving machinery safely.
  • May require flexible hours or on-call availability for operational needs.
