Position Summary:  The Custodian’s role is to perform a broad range of custodial services necessary to maintain the lab facility in a clean and orderly condition for effective use by staff and the public.

Essential Job Functions:

• Break down and take cardboard boxes out to dumpster
• Wash lab trays
• Wash lab towels and apron (washer & dryer on site)
• Cart lab trays to warehouse after washing them
• Performs related duties as assigned

Skills & Abilities:

• Safely use the recommended materials, tools, and equipment
• Ability to multi-task
• Safely use chemical and cleaning agents used in custodial work
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions in carrying out assignments

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 5-10 lbs.
• Ability to work extended periods of time while standing
• Bending and stooping

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a custodial role preferred

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
