Join us as an Outreach Coordinator!
We are seeking an community-focused individual to join our administrative team as an Outreach Coordinator. The Outreach Coordinator supports community outreach and member relations, fostering engagement across neighborhoods served by Weavers Way Co-op. This is a full-time, non-exempt position working an estimated 30 hours per week. Reliable transportation to travel between stores and flexible availability to attend evening and weekend events is required. Responsibilities Include
Community Outreach & Events
- Partner with the Outreach Manager to identify and pursue opportunities to present Weavers Way Co-op to civic, social, educational, and other community-oriented organizations.
- Attend outreach events throughout Weavers Way Co-op's service neighborhoods.
- Maintain an annual calendar of special events that Weavers Way Co-op may host, initiate, or attend.
- Coordinate the General Membership Meeting in collaboration with the Outreach Manager, Board Administrator, and General Manager.
- Sit on the Donations Committee to evaluate and respond to donation requests.
- Support the Member Ambassador Program to strengthen community connections.
Member Engagement & Support
- Schedule, organize, and help facilitate new member orientation sessions.
- Respond to member and customer inquiries related to membership, working membership, events, and outreach - ensuring resolution within 1 business day.
- Provide in-person support at the Membership Department administrative office and in-store Member Services desks.
- If needed, participated in holiday retail work to support store staff.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of member and customer data.
Workshop Coordination
- Create and coordinate special programs and workshops relevant to the Weavers Way Co-op community across all locations.
- Review and approve/reject workshop proposals.
- Maintain and publish the Weavers Way Co-op workshop calendar; ensure a consistent offering of high-quality workshops year-round.
- Coordinate with facilitators to ensure workshops are properly delivered and store staff are informed.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to promote workshops and community events.
Administrative Support
- Maintain and adequate supply of current Weavers Way Co-op membership literature.
- Recruit Cooperators for special events, projects, and other needs.
- Participate in Outreach, Membership, and Communication department meetings.
- Collaborate with the Retail team to support outreach and event efforts.
- Observe and uphold all Weavers Way Co-op policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation for travel between stores and off-site events.
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, staff, members, and the general public.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
- Supervisory experience with Cooperators or other volunteers working in team settings.
- Comfort with public speaking, or speaking in group settings.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
- Computer proficiency and data entry skills - or a willingness to learn - is preferred.
- The ability to lift and move items up to 50lbs (tables, chairs, tents, etc).
- Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op.
