This position is a job rotation anticipated to last 6 months, though may be extended or decreased due to business need. This rotation available for current regular status employees of the Oregon Department of Corrections, Oregon Corrections Enterprises, or Oregon Board of Parole, Probation, and Post-Prison Supervision with their current manager's approval.
This position has a primary work location based out of the Offender Information and Sentence Computation in Wilsonville, Oregon.
About the Job – Your Role
In this role you be responsible for managing a diverse team that includes File and Records Clerks, Record Sealing Coordinators, Information Request Specialists, a Police Records Specialist, a receptionist, and a Document Imaging Specialist.
You will serve as the principal contact for staff and external stakeholders on matters related to policy, procedures, and customer service, while ensuring the unit’s objectives align with the Department’s mission and goals.
As an essential member of the management team, you will be expected to collaborate in setting and achieving unit objectives, support a professional and respectful workplace, and promptly address and remediate inappropriate workplace behavior. In addition, the supervisor will fulfill responsibilities as the Public Information Officer (PIO) for OISC, ensuring timely, accurate, and effective communication.
This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) Years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience;
OR
one (1) year of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Working Conditions
You will be required to work a professional work week that may exceed forty (40) hours. Work may be performed in an office setting, authorized remote work location, or in an institution setting.
The Information Unit Manager is expected to accept responsibility for the operations of all staff assigned to the Information Unit. Your work and leadership must adhere to and further the rules, policies and procedures of the Department and OISC. The Information Unit Manager must be able to work with computer systems and programs of varying complexities, with minimal training, to transact their work and to supervise the work of the Information Unit staff. The majority of the work performed is in an office, cubicle setting.
As the Unit is located on the grounds of a correctional facility, you are required to follow basic security protocols and will work around adults in custody. Meeting attendance and Unit representation requires infrequent, in-state travel that may include overnight stays.
You will be on-call in the event of declared Unit and/or Department emergencies. You may backfill for other managers and the Administrator on a short-term basis.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

About the Process – What to Expect

Requirements for Employment
The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
