Hazardous Materials Technician I bei Imperial Irrigation District, CA

About the Department

Under general supervision, works within and supports district hazardous waste/materials program; interacts with all district departments to ensure purchase, technical handling, storage, disposal, hazardous material emergency response and site remediation activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws; conducts hazardous waste audits at all district facilities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Duties

Associates degree in biology, physical science, geology, environmental science, hazardous materials management, fire science or related field and two years' experience with hazardous material handling, storage and disposal techniques.

Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required.

Minimum Qualifications

First Responder – Operational Level Training Certificate
Ability to obtain Hazardous Materials Technician Certification
Ability to obtain 40 hours Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)
