Summary:
The Staff Kids Care exists to offer Life Church employees located in the Mid-South a Christ-centered, low-cost childcare option for staff parents. The program is designed to provide a safe, fun, nurturing environment for children to enjoy self-led and interactive play along with basic, developmentally-appropriate activities. Teachers are responsible for supervising, nurturing and caring for a small classroom of children throughout the year at The Life Church Houston Levee location. Program hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30a - 5:00p with occasional special events.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Implementing daily activities planned by the Lead Teacher and Staff Kids Care Director
Assisting in planning daily and weekly activities
Creating a warm and welcoming classroom environment
Intentionally and actively interacting with children, both individually and in groups
Ensuring the safety and well being of each child in the classroom, including good hygiene and changing diapers as necessary
Maintaining a quality classroom environment by ensuring spaces are clean, disinfected and organized throughout the day, at daily closing and in preparation for weekend services
Reporting updates, behavioral issues, injuries, and classroom supply needs to the Staff Kids Care Director in a timely manner
Communicating any relevant classroom information to parents during child pick-up
Adhering to The Life Church Kids Life standards while caring for children
Attributes & Skills Required:
Passion for kids - create an environment of fun and expectation in your classroom
Patience and stamina to be able to physically keep up with children
Experience working with children
Commitment to safety - provide a safe and clean classroom and environment
Ability to maintain and demonstrate professional, pleasant, and positive attitude and appearance
Ability to maintain confidentiality with organizational and staff families’ information
