Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Solid Waste & Recycling Worker. The Solid Waste & Recycling Worker reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor.  The primary job duties of this position include:  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Delivers containers to new residents and replace damaged residential refuse/recycle containers.
  • Performs routine maintenance, cleaning, and preparation of containers and equipment.
  • Operates a variety of equipment, machinery, and hand tools used in container maintenance.
  • Perform work duties and activities in accordance with Town and division safety practices and policies.
  • Monitors and maintain inventory levels of equipment, supplies, and materials.

The position will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week, which may require working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.  

Position Duties

At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward-thinking problem solvers who love what they do. In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six months of experience in customer service and related vehicle/equipment operation.
  • Experience in solid waste operations is desired, but not required.
  • Experience utilizing small hand tools.
  • Requires working in extreme temperatures that are part of the Arizona climate.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
