RATE OF PAY: $58,750-$75,000 DOE

REPORTS TO: Director of Business Operations

WORK LOCATION: School Cafeterias and Business Office

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for the planning, preparation and supervision of food services for the District. Duties include ordering, preparing, serving of quality food; planning schedules, training, supervising, and monitoring the work of food services employees according to the District procedures . Maintains accurate employee time sheets, food inventories, provides timely reports and makes recommendations for changes in procedure to the Superintendent. Verifies monies with food service personnel and keeps accurate records of meals served. Interviews and recommends employment of food service personnel. Works closely with the Arizona Department of Education division of food services AND Federal School Nutrition guidelines / mandates.  Ensures food service standards are met to provide high-quality and safe food for students and staff.

JOB FACTOR: Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work accurately with figures. Knowledge of quality and quantity food service and nutrition as well as sanitation and health requirements. Must have ability and knowledge to effectively supervise. Cafeteria lay-out.

Physical Requirements: Works standing and moving about, ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, twist, lift, walk, climb and stand for up to 45 minutes at a time.  Clerical work required with computers.

Education: High school or equivalent graduates need only apply. Quantity Food and Nutrition courses required and prior experience preferred.  Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.  

Training and Experience: Experience in food service operation including at least two years of supervisory experience. Must have completed food personnel sanitation course and posses valid certificate of completion.  Preferred experience in school food safety.
