Adjunct Instructor of Economics

Position Purpose:
Cumberland University is seeking applications for an adjunct faculty position in Economics.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to and preparation for excellence in teaching economics and related areas to undergraduates.

·Excellent communication, teaching, and presentation skills are required.

·Must be able to use university systems for email communications and to electronically enter attendance, midterm grades, and final grades.

·Demonstrated inter- and intrapersonal skills, especially in engaging with traditional and non-traditional university students.

·Evidence of high level of personal agency and initiative.

·Demonstrated organizational skills.

·Successful use of multiple creative instructional strategies and technologies in the classroom and online to improve educational outcomes of diverse learners

·Abide by all relevant University and/or department procedures and policies.

Experience:
Previous university teaching in-person preferred.

Education: Master’s Degree required for undergraduate (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Economics)

Additional Information:
Teaching load will primarily be in Principles of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics.

Available beginning Spring 2026 for Fall, Spring, and summer semesters in person at the main campus in Lebanon, TN.
