Position Description

The Asian Studies Program invites applications for a one-year visiting position in Korean Studies beginning fall of 2026. The candidate will be expected to teach between three to five courses per academic year distributed through a range of courses in the scholars disciplinary specialization as relevant to Korea and Asian Studies generally (all in-person). Specific responsibilities will include AS 251 Contemporary Korean Culture as well as a combination of courses in the preferred discipline and/or participation in the Colleges first-year seminar series. The position is based on a 3-5 annual course load, Benefits eligible and fully funded through the Lewis & Clark College Korean Studies Fund.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. A Ph.D. at the time of appointment is strongly preferred.

Eligibility to Work

In order to comply with US Homeland Security Department regulations, all employees must complete an I-9 form in Workday prior to or no later than the first day of work and bring originals (no photocopies) of their supporting documentation to Human Resources no later than the 3rd business day of employment. Failure to have a completed I-9 form on file with the College will result in immediate termination of employment.
