We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to grow their accounting career while contributing to the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This position will assist with the preparation of day-to-day accounting for the loan accounting department, including preparation of general ledger transactions, reconcile daily loans and financing transactions, perform procedures to ensure adequate accounting controls, and support the financial reporting needs of the organization. The Junior Staff Accountant will also assist with month end and quarter end close, internal and external audit requests, and other projects as needed. The ideal candidate is someone who understands the details of the day-to-day operational needs of a loan accounting department and has an understanding of mortgage lending processes and loan servicing.
Principal Duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with the preparation of daily journal entries for the loan accounting department.
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues.
- Assist in the collaboration with business users at all levels of the organization, and technology team members to implement comprehensive and sustainable solutions.
- Assist with month end and quarter end close.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Assist with Cash and Debt reconciliations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience.
- Basic understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Intacct Sage).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Sage Intacct accounting software experience a plus.

Compensation Range: $24.00/hour - $31.00/hour
