SUMMER 2026- Seasonal Position

$19-$26 Hour

The Summer Playground Camp Supervisor leads and supervises Playground Camp Counselors, Playground Counselor Aides, Counselors in Training (CIT), and children ages 6-11 in a six-week summer camp program. Reports directly to the Recreation Program Coordinator II- Programs and Camps. One week training required. Potential hours required during the school year to prepare for the upcoming camp season. 

Training for position to run June 22 - June 26,2026 Camp Runs from June 29, 2026 through August 7, 2026. 


Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. 7:30 am to 5:00 pm 


Summer camp hours:
7:30am-9:00am (Before Care)
9:00am-3:30pm (Camp)
3:30pm-5:00pm (After Care)

All new employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. A conditional offer of employment may then be made contingent upon the successful completion of fingerprinting, drug, and TB tests.


This is a Non-Exempt Position.

Position Duties

  • Manages daily operations for the Summer Playground Camp
  • Create camp weekly activities calendar
  • Plan and implement weekly special events
  • Plan and implement Arts and crafts activities
  • Conduct age-appropriate activities including games and sports programs
  • Plan two camp wide field trips
  • Coordinates procuring all necessary supplies for program
  • Works with parents on disciplinary issues
  • Successfully completes  all accident and incident reports, ensuring all necessary forms are complete
  • Works with Recreation Program Coordinator II to conduct a 1-week camp training for staff
  • Manages the Counselors in Training (CIT) program, including interviewing, training and scheduling CIT’s.
  • Works with the Recreation Program Coordinator II periodically throughout the year on camp related items
  • Conducts interviews for the Summer Camp Counselor and Sumer Camp Aide positions

Minimum Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Experience working with children ages 6-11
  • Experience in organizing and implementing age appropriate games and special events
  • Ability to stimulate interest in and direct a variety of recreational activities
  • CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Ability to deal with the public, program participants and other employees in a pleasant and courteous manner and as required by the position
  • Ability to follow and understand oral and written instruction
