Position Summary:

Working in tandem with DBHIDS team members, the Arts and Social Impact Strategist will lead the integration of creative arts into a diverse portfolio of community-focused behavioral health initiatives. This role is both visionary and hands-on, bridging the world of arts, wellness, and social change. The strategist will design, implement, and evaluate innovative arts-based approaches that foster healing, amplify community voices, and strengthen the impact of behavioral health programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive arts integration strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and behavioral health goals.
  • Identify opportunities to embed creative expression into existing and emerging community programs, ensuring cultural relevance and accessibility.
  • Serve as a though leader on role of the arts in mental health, resilience, and social impact.

Program Design & Innovation

  • Collaborate with program managers, clinicians, and community partners to co-create arts-based interventions that enhance therapeutic outcomes.
  • Pilot and scale innovative projects--from public art installations to storytelling workshops--that address stigma, promote self-expression, and build community connection.
  • Leverage emerging technologies( e.g., digital media, immersive experiences) to expand the reach and engagement of arts initiatives.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain partnerships with local artists, cultural organizations, and advocacy groups to co-create impactful programming.
  • Facilitate community co-design sessions to ensure initiatives reflect lived experiences and diverse perspectives.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, panels, and community events to learn and share best practices and inspire collaboration.

Evaluation & Impact Measurement

  • Work with DBHIDS teams and partners to establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the social, emotional, and behavioral health outcomes of arts-based programs.
  • Prepare impact reports and case studies for stakeholders, funders, and the broader community.
  • Continuously refine programs based on feedback, research, and emerging trends in art and health

Education and Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts Administration, Public Health, Community Development, or related field(or equivalent experience)
  • 10+years of experience in arts-based community engagement, cultural programming, or social impact strategy.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing innovative arts initiatives within community or health-focused settings.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and trauma-informed practices.
  • Exceptional skills in collaboration, facilitation, and cross-sector partnership building.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy, Social Innovation, or related discipline.
  • Experience working with diverse and underserved communities.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising for arts and health initiatives.
