Job Description

This position is responsible for filming and editing video and photo content for various social media platforms—including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter)—at games, practices, special events, and in-house programs.

The position requires proficiency in videography and photography to create compelling and professional-quality content that promotes participation in Fitness and Recreational Sports programs, celebrates our students, and inspires the campus community to embrace an active lifestyle.

Hours for this position will primarily include nights and weekends. Candidates must also be available for last-minute scheduling and occasional special events.

Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos of intramural sports, club sports, fitness classes, and special events.

  • Utilize software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and video editing programs to enhance and finalize content.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of various sports to anticipate action and capture key moments effectively.

  • Edit and organize photo and video content for promotional use, ensuring proper color correction, composition, and clarity.

  • Create engaging content that highlights the energy, community, and spirit of Fitness and Recreational Sports.

  • Work collaboratively with other student team members to ensure smooth event coverage and consistent content quality.

  • Take direction and follow strategy provided by the Programming and Marketing Coordinator to align content with departmental goals and brand standards.

  • Maintain respectful and professional relationships with professional staff, student staff, club teams, and participants.

  • Ensure proper use and storage of all equipment, maintaining organized digital archives.

  • Uphold all facility and safety policies while modeling professionalism, respect, and inclusivity.

  • Remain flexible, adaptable, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

  • Provide general operational support to staff during evening and weekend shifts as needed.

  • Demonstrate strong videography and photography skills through consistent weekly coverage of FRS and campus-wide events.
