SUE Director bei ESP Associates

Celebrating over 35 years of success and continual growth, ESP Associates is currently seeking a strategic, growth-oriented Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) professional to join our leadership team.

Reporting to the Transportation Business Unit Executive, the Director will focus on strengthening and expanding ESP’s SUE services.

As a leader in the Transportation Business Unit, you will lead decisions regarding strategy, market penetration, team growth/development, and continuous improvement.  

Responsibilities:

• Provide training, mentoring, technical and administrative guidance and oversight. 
• Manage and oversee adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality control measures.
• Develop and maintain relationships with client decision makers to position the Company for SUE contracts.
• Prepare and approve proposals and qualifications statements.
• Assist Division Managers and Group Managers with workforce planning, monthly billing, and final review of completed reports and maps.
• Manage the SUE service line to achieve profitability and growth.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Associates in Surveying Technology, or related degree.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Professional Surveyor and Mapper license (PSM or PLS). 
• Demonstrated success performing business development and maintaining relationships.
• Strong leadership, project management, and business development skills.  
• Extensive knowledge of SUE principles, practice standards, procedures and project management.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to effectively and professionally interact with team members, clients, governmental review authorities, government officials, and the public.
• Demonstrated expertise adjusting to priorities and demands from multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Firm understanding of risk management and loss prevention.
• Superior organizational and planning skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong self-motivational and organizational skills with the ability to lead, motivate and direct a team of office and field personnel.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, and relevant technical software) required.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
