Position Accountabilities

Assistant Teaching Professor of Psychology

Location: Parkville, MO (Flagship Campus)

The Department of Culture & Society of Park University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in Psychology. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment for the 2026-2027 academic year, with the possibility of renewal based on departmental needs and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a 4/4 load of undergraduate psychology courses per academic year in a face-to-face format.

  • Develop and deliver engaging, inclusive, and evidence-based instruction.

  • Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and student mentoring as appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for undergraduate teaching, a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment, and the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds. Experience with active learning strategies and innovative pedagogical approaches is highly desirable.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Required: Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Preferred: Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology.

  • Experience: Demonstrated evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate level.

We seek candidates with expertise in General Psychology and a proven record of effective instruction in the following courses:

  • Introduction to Psychology

  • Social Psychology

  • Statistical Methods

  • Cross-cultural Psychology

  • Abnormal Psychology
