Who we are:
Liberation Programs is one of Fairfield County's leading behavioral health organizations specializing in treatment for all types of substance use disorders including alcohol, opiates, depressants and stimulants. Our goal is to help individuals and families overcome addiction in order to restore their lives and ultimately strengthen our communities. Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families. In operation since 1971, the agency has sites in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport and served more than 2,400 individuals in our last fiscal year.

Liberation Programs' mission is to provide prevention, treatment and recovery services to help individuals and their families impacted by substance use and mental health conditions to foster hope and maintain wellness.
Job Purpose/Function: The Kitchen Supervisor is charged with overseeing kitchen staff and providing three nutritious, calorie-conscious meals a day as well as snacks to clients in LPI’s long term residential program in support of their recovery efforts.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Kitchen Operations:
- Oversee daily kitchen activities
- Ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
- Menu Planning:
- Collaborate with dietitians and nutritionists to develop nutritious and appealing meal plans that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
- Staff Management:
- Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff
- Provide weekly supervision to kitchen staff
- Foster a positive and productive work environment
- Inventory Control:
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage and handling of all food items.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations, including maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to established standards.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in managing the kitchen budget, controlling costs, and minimizing waste.

- Kitchen and kitchen staff meet all safety and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of kitchen experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Certification: ServeSafe Certification is required.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen equipment, and culinary techniques.
