The Denver Athletic Club is currently seeking a qualified full-time Senior Maintenance Technician in downtown Denver, CO. The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair duties including painting, plumbing, minor HVAC repairs and electrical as needed for the purposes of ongoing building care, upkeep, repair, and refurbishment. Additional duties include pool maintenance and monitoring and care of the grounds surrounding The Denver Athletic Club. This role will supervise other associates and technicians in absence of the Chief Engineer.

Essential Functions

  • Perform regular and preventative maintenance to ensure properties are in excellent condition.
  • Assist the Building Engineers with repairs, demolitions, painting, plumbing, etc.
  • Operate light equipment such as snow plow, ATV, mowing & trimming equipment, snow blower, power washer, power tools, manual hand tools and similar equipment.
  • Maintain all maintenance equipment
  • Ensure all possible safety measures are observed and alert supervisor of maintenance concerns or needs.
  • Ability to do repeated lifting, bending, pushing and pulling of various weights, climbing stairs and ladders.
  • In the absence of the Chief Maintenance Engineer, performs a leadership, coordination and scheduling role for the Maintenance Associates to ensure consistent execution of company standards relevant to maintenance.
  • In the absence of the Chief Maintenance Engineer, assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Oversees maintenance tasks to ensure effective coordination with other departments.
  • Completes Housekeeping cleaning projects both inside and outside the building. Snow removal as needed
  • May perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent with technical school certification
  • Practical and professional knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and equipment
  • Ability to perform basic general maintenance, light carpentry, painting, minor electrical, locksmithing
  • Proven ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.
  • Proven knowledge of current issues relating to building operations and maintenance
  • Previous experience working with: 3-Phase electrical equipment; low-pressure steam boilers and commercial refrigeration; pool/spa operation and chemicals; carpentry, painting, and basic plumbing knowledge
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Previous work experience in plumbing, electrical, construction, painting, equipment repairs, lighting, swimming pool/hot tub maintenance and other duties generally associated with building maintenance
  • Must have reliable transportation and must be willing to travel to downtown Denver; a driver's license is required for this role.

You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
