Job Summary
Serves as a painter for school district facilities. Responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and structures throughout the district. Works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.
What you will do
- Smoothens and prepares surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint. Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler.
- Paints surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers, and applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects. Stains, seals, and varnishes wood surfaces. Prepares all painted signs required by the district.
- Erects scaffolding or sets up ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
- Picks up and delivers painting supplies to campuses.
- Detects needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment by following established inspection procedures.
- Keeps records of work assignments
- Maintains inventory of tools and assist with inventory control of materials and equipment.
- Works with Lead to complete projects.

- Vocational Training Preferred
- 1-2 years’ applicable experience in painting and preparation of surfaces Preferred
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
