Job Summary:
The Heavy-Duty Clean Team Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the casinos Heavy Duty Clean Team staff, ensuring that all public areas, gaming floors, restrooms, restaurants, offices, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. This position is responsible for scheduling, training, and supervising the Heavy-Duty Clean Team staff, monitoring cleaning quality, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff to ensure cleanliness of all casino areas, including gaming floors, restrooms, restaurants, back-of-house, and exterior spaces.
- Develop work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor completion to maintain efficient operations.
- Inspect facilities regularly to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, compliance with safety standards.
- Provide hands-on support as needed, including operating cleaning equipment and performing janitorial tasks.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members in proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and gaming regulations as they relate to sanitation and safety.
- Address and resolve guest or staff concerns regarding cleanliness in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, work performance, inspections and supply usage.
- Collaborate with Facilities, Security, and other departments to support special projects, deep cleans, and event preparations.
- Enforce company policies, standards, and procedures while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Five (5) years of janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of deep cleaning methods, floor care, and safe use of chemicals and janitorial equipment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and provide feedback.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License as required by tribal and state authorities.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, using the English language.
- Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed, to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to secondhand cigarette smoke).
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk, hear, and see. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
