Position Overview

We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Controls Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, electrical systems, and control technologies. You’ll assist in designing, programming, testing, and troubleshooting control systems for our machinery, while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned engineers.  Working closely with manufacturing assembly teams you will develop skills essential to career growth. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical control systems for industrial equipment
  • Program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and motion controllers
  • Support the integration of sensors, actuators, and other control components
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers and technicians during machine builds and testing
  • Troubleshoot and debug control systems during development and after installation
  • Maintain documentation including wiring diagrams, schematics, and control logic
  • Participate in field installations and customer support as needed
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation, or related field
  • Internship or project experience with PLCs, HMIs, or industrial automation preferred
  • Familiarity with control system design, electrical schematics, and wiring standards
  • Basic understanding of programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or C/C++
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for installations or support
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and transition between workstations for extended periods.
  • Requires manual dexterity to operate computers, tools, and testing equipment.
  • Visual acuity necessary for inspecting wiring, screens, and components, including close-range and color differentiation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and transport items weighing up to 25 pounds. 
  • Must adhere to safety protocols within manufacturing and industrial environments.
  • Occasional travel to customers sites or project locations may be required.
