Long-Term Algebra I & II Substitute Teacher bei Des Moines Christian School

Purpose of Position: Des Moines Christian School Long-Term Substitute Teachers are student-focused professionals who fulfill the mission of DMC by stepping into the role of the classroom teacher. Position: Part-time Reports To: Division Head Qualifications: BA/BS in Education, Mathematics, or related field preferred. Candidates who have a sub-authorization in the state of Iowa will also be considered. Professing believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and committed to growing in a relationship with Him. In agreement with the Des Moines Christian School Statement of Faith. In agreement with the Des Moines Christian School Biblical Convictions for Christian Education. Regularly attends and is actively involved in a church that affirms historic Christian orthodoxy (doctrine, faith, teaching, practice), consistent with the DMC Statement of Faith, through that church’s public creed, confession, core beliefs, or statement of faith. Responsibilities: Ensures the DMC mission drives all curricular and extracurricular activities. Exhibits a love of teaching and a passion to see each student succeed. Follows lesson plans left by the classroom teacher, and also assists in developing lesson plans for the substitute timeframe. Develops trusting, productive relationships with students to create a safe, positive, and productive learning environment. Uses a variety of instructional strategies and assessment practices to deepen the learning for each student. Partners with parents through effective, consistent communication.
