The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences seek to fill a tenure-track faculty position in pharmaceutics at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. Applications from candidates whose research is externally funded are particularly welcome. Duquesne University embraces a teacher-scholar model of higher education. Therefore, qualified candidates will be simultaneously effective as educators and scholars in their field.
The successful candidate will have expertise in the pharmaceutical sciences. Areas of interest include—but are not limited to—formulation development, drug delivery methods, advanced pharmaceutical modeling, bioprocessing, or related fields such as bioengineering.

Duquesne University is situated in Pittsburgh’s cosmopolitan and historic downtown, but set apart by its position atop a scenic bluff overlooking the Monongahela River.
REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:
Candidate must have a Ph.D. in pharmaceutics, biotechnology, pharmaceutical engineering, or a suitably related field.
Preferred candidates are expected to have established or be actively developing a robust, extramurally funded research program.
Candidates will teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy, M.S., and Ph.D. programs.
Successful candidates are expected to be committed to service and mentoring students.
We seek candidates whose research, teaching, and/or service has prepared them to contribute to Duquesne University’s commitment to building and engaging various communities in higher education, particularly in the pharmaceutical sciences.
Alternately, the applicants may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.
Candidates must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community and be willing to contribute actively to the Mission of the University and to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University.
