Summary:
Provide physical protection of nuclear power generating facilities against intrusion and acts of sabotage. Conduct armed stationary, foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior). Control access and/or egress of personnel, materials and vehicles. Monitor CCTV, plant surveillance equipment and alarm systems. Perform testing of security systems. Compose reports. Deter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations. Support activities that include the identification of equipment and safety related hazards and report those instances when necessary. Strive to protect PSEG employees, contractors, and visitors through PSEG’s Nuclear Security Safety culture. Perform other duties as specified in nuclear training and qualification plan, post orders and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Shift Work is required
- Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipment.
- Pass the following, post-offer in accordance with the code of federal regulations for armed nuclear security assignment (10CFR, Appendix B):
- Physical Exams, including vision and hearing, in accordance with nuclear regulatory requirements and site training and qualification plan;
- Physical fitness (agilities) test in accordance with site training and qualification plan;
- State and/or NRA Firearms qualification with handgun, rifles and tactical course.
- A potential for working overtime is a condition of employment.

- High School Diploma or GED, no experience required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass all required certifications and qualifications for Nuclear Security Officer .
- Ability to pass all physical and NRC requirements for a Nuclear Security Officer.
- Possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving record.
- Meet and maintain Nuclear requirements for unescorted access.
- A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this job.
- Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
- Previous law enforcement, military or Nuclear Security Officer experience.
