Our Lansingburgh Family Resource Center is seeking a Full Year Head Start Teacher that will:
- Plan and implement a daily education program for preschool children that integrates all components of the Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards.
- Works with classroom staff and parents to implement curriculum that is meaningful and meets the individual and program needs.
- Use positive guidance strategies to teach, encourage, and redirect behavior utilizing established behavior management policies and procedures
- Promote positive social interactions among children and model appropriate communication.
- Deliver age-appropriate activities and support small group activities and provide individualized instruction as needed.
- Enhance the continuation of learning between home and school by conducting two home visits and two parent/teacher conferences each year. Encourage parent participation in classroom and family fun days.
Complete all required paperwork including meals counts, attendance, daily health logs, etc. in a timely manner. Complete lesson plans, individualization goals, anecdotal records and assessments, as required
Candidate Qualifications:
- AAS or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Previous experience working with children
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations preferred
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without the need for VISA Sponsorship
