General Definition of Work
The manager of regional custodial services, under moderate supervision, performs supervisory work with intermediate decision-making discretion overseeing custodial operations to ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance. Position leads a team of regional custodial services supervisors. Employee performs district-level work to carry-out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Director of Custodial Services.

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs/staff in the district
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director to develop and implement departmental goals
- Establish schedules and methods for the maintenance and repair of custodial equipment
- Plan, prioritize, and delegate work to assigned regional custodial services supervisors
- Develop and implement process improvements to improve quality and efficiencies
- Conduct quarterly visits to each assigned site. Identify and discuss areas of concerns; develop any necessary action plans
- Participate in the planning and budgeting process. Demonstrate the use of cost-effective procedures in fiscal management
- Identify, recommend and implement cost reduction strategies
- Monitor performance metrics and develop reports that effectively measure the quality of custodial services provide
- Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
- Develop processes, training, and other documentation to inform on receiving of goods, storage requirements, product handling, equipment utilization, inventory management, etc.
- Respond to emergencies and support special events
- Facilitate or attend professional development and meetings as required
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
- Perform related work as assigned or required
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree environmental health & safety or related field preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of custodial services or facilities management experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role required
- International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) certification preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
