- Coordinate daily student transportation schedules, including pickups, drop-offs, and route adjustments
- Serve as liaison between the school, parents/guardians, drivers, and transportation providers
- Maintain up-to-date transportation records, including emergency contact info and special accommodations
- Monitor transportation compliance with state and district regulations, including those related to special education (e.g., IEP requirements)
- Respond promptly to transportation-related incidents or delays, and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Support students during arrival and dismissal times, including supervising transitions to/from buses
- Collaborate with school administrators and service providers to ensure efficient and safe transportation
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity regarding student needs and family communication
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Prior experience in student transportation, logistics, or school operations preferred
- Understanding of or willingness to learn regulations related to transporting students with special needs
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and transportation vendors
- Patience, reliability, and a commitment to student safety and well-being
- Ability to stand and walk during bus arrival/dismissal
- May require light lifting, bending, or assisting students with mobility challenges
