Job Title: Security Lead
Department: Security
Location: Liberty Drive Facility, Bloomington, IN
Reports To: HR Manager
FLSA: Full or Part time/ Non-exempt
PAY RATE: $20.00/hr
POSITION PURPOSE
The Security Lead under the direction of HR is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, customers, vendors, suppliers, and all visitors entering and exiting the exiting the building and performs related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Security/law enforcement/military experience preferred
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to manage in a multi-task environment.
- Requires a good working knowledge of security operations and safety practices in a commercial/business environment
- Proven experience in security enforcement procedures
- Proven ability to define issues, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and develop sound, independent conclusions and recommendation
DUTIES: (included, but not limited to)
- Ability to interact effectively both orally and in writing with employees and customers and perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
- Understand and follow standard operating procedures, while making independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures
- Perform security patrols of buildings and parking lots in order to protect property from theft, sabotage, fire and accidents
- Staff metal detectors at all times during operational hours
- Report accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations to appropriate management personnel and Security Team Leader
- Provide any needed assistance to customers, vendors, employees and visitors with PTS security procedures
- Prepares reports, memos, correspondence, presentations, and other documents and reports often of a highly sensitive and confidential nature
- Receives information and assists HR in handling issues that often require sensitivity and use of sound, independent judgment; responds to requests for information, refers matters to appropriate staff and/or takes or recommends action to resolve the request.
- Monitor the traffic through the Metal detectors at random intervals, especially during break times.
- Monitors cameras at all times to ensure safety and security of people and property.
- Assists Management in locker searches.
- Clean break areas
- Assist with Lunches
- Snow removal
- Interviews and makes recommendations on new security hires
- Trains new security officers
- Manages security schedules
- Conducts performance evaluations of security officers
- Issues Corrective actions/discipline to security officers
OTHER DUTIES: Performs and/or coordinates the completion of special projects and other duties as
assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to see, speak, hear, write, and understand English.
- Sustained attention to detail.
- Ability to read and analyze data and other written information.
- Good hand to eye coordination and some lifting may be required.
WORKING HOURS: 6:15+ am – 5:00+ pm core business hours with additional hours as necessary to meet production demands. Specific security officer hours/shift to be determined post hire.
