POSITION SUMMARY:

The Duquesne University Nasuti College of Osteopathic Medicine’sDirector of Medical Education, Data Analysis, and Assessment plays a pivotalrole in the Department of Academic Affairs by advancing institutionaleffectiveness and continuous improvement within the medical school program frommatriculation to graduation. This position leads and contributes significantlyin the development and implementation of data-driven assessment strategies,curriculum mapping aligned with AACOM Core Competencies, and continuous qualityimprovement (CQI) initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess stronganalytical skills, a deep understanding of medical education, and the abilityto translate complex data into actionable insights that enhance studentlearning and program outcomes. The position reports to the Assistant Dean forAssessment and Medical Education.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

Director of Medical Education (30%)

Provides supervisory support in the MedicalEducation Department and for the Assessment team under the leadership of theAssistant Dean for Assessment and Medical Education.

Assists with proctoring and administrationof all student assessments.

Develops and oversees comprehensiveassessment plans for academic programs, student learning outcomes, andinstitutional goals.

Collaborates with faculty andadministration at the College and University levels to design and implementassessment tools and methodologies.

Ensures each assessment is of good quality,accurate, appropriate for the content and the educational level of the student,and is properly aligned with the core programmatic learning objectives.

Ensures alignment of assessment practiceswith national standards and institutional mission.

Curriculum Mapping & CQI (20%)

Contributes significantly to themaintenance of curriculum maps that align with AACOM Core Competencies andother relevant standards, using the One-45 and Watermark curriculum mappingplatforms.

Work closely with biomedical and clinicalfaculty, and serve on the Curriculum Committee, to ensure vertical andhorizontal integration of competencies across the curriculum.

Monitors curricular effectiveness throughdata analysis and stakeholder feedback, identifying educational gaps andopportunities for improvement.

Facilitates the COM’s continuous qualityimprovement (CQI) processes, including regular review cycles, documentation,and implementation of curricular enhancements.

Data Analysis & Reporting (30%)

Leads efforts to collect, analyze, andreport assessment and programmatic outcomes data for accreditation bodies (e.g.,COCA and MSCHE), in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for AcademicExcellence and Accreditation and the Duquesne University Associate Provost forAssessment.

Collect, clean, and analyze quantitativeand qualitative data from multiple sources (e.g., surveys, exams, evaluations,board scores, clinical performance).

Creates dashboards, visualizations, andreports to support strategic planning, curriculum review, and facultydevelopment.

Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs)and provide regular updates to leadership.

Institutional Research & Compliance (10%)

Support institutional researchinitiatives relating to medical educational technologies and processes,including benchmarking, trend analysis, and predictive modeling.

Prepares data submissions for externalagencies and accrediting bodies.

Maintains data integrity and ensurecompliance with FERPA and other data privacy regulations.

Technology & Systems (10%)

Work collaboratively with the AssistantDean for Assessment and Medical Education and the Instructional TechnologyDepartments at the College and University levels to manage assessment platformsand data systems (e.g., ExamSoft, Qualtrics, Power BI, Slate, Starfish,Watermark, One-45, Canvas).

Provide training and support to facultyand staff on data collection and interpretation tools.

Completes other duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Master’s degree in Data Analytics,Educational Research, Public Health, or a related field from an accreditedinstitution.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in dataanalysis, assessment, or institutional research is preferred, ideally in amedical or health sciences education setting.

Preferredqualifications:

Experience with AACOM Core Competenciesand osteopathic medical education.

Familiarity with COCA and MSCHEaccreditation processes.

Knowledge of medical education assessmenttools and frameworks (e.g., NBOME, OSCE, EPA).

Experience with database managementsystems.

Doctorate from anaccredited institution preferred.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following: 

Proficiency in statistical software(e.g., SPSS, SAS) and data visualization tools.

Strong understanding of assessmenttheory, curriculum design, and accreditation standards.

Experience with curriculum mapping andCQI processes in medical education.

Excellent communication skills with theability to present complex data to diverse audiences.

Detail-oriented with strong projectmanagement and organizational skills.

Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with the UniversityCommunity.
