Job Description 

• The Design Verification Engineer will be a member of the Avionics team, focusing on the design verification of the various electrical functions of high-performance communication systems. 
• They will focus on PCB Assembly design verification and will be taking designs from subsystem testing and initial build, through functional testing and system performance validation. 
• They will lead a variety of tasks such as board level bring-up and test for newly designed PCBA. 
• They will write and execute design verification plans for power and signal integrity verification for standard and custom communication interfaces between Integrated circuits and circuit boards. 
• They will ensure proper data collection, reviews, and demonstrate the system requirement verification. 
• They will be part of a multidisciplinary avionics design team and work closely with PCBA design engineers, harness engineers, FPGA and embedded SW developers as well as system and integration engineers.

Requirements

Basic qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field 
• 5+ years of experience in board level design verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products  
• 5+ years’ experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification. 
• 5+ years’ experience in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) 
• Solid understanding of EE and test fundamentals 
• Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills 
• 5+ years’ Experience in design verification of high-speed interfaces, signal integrity and protocol compliance 
• 5+ years’ Experience testing power regulators (switching, LDOs) 

Preferred qualifications 

• Ability to coordinate between engineering, test lab, and technicians and schedule testing resources 
• Experience in test plans and protocols related to established Space Hardware test processes (GEVS / SMC-S-016) 
• Knowledge of hardware and software tools for test automation (e.g. NI, dSPACE, Python, C/C++, Labview, etc.) 
• Experience with power supplies, IMUs, FPGAs, sensors, RF, and high-speed electrical signal characterization 
• Experience with design or test of circuit boards with complex microcontrollers, system-on-chip (SOCs), or FPGAs 
• Experience with design or test of communication busses, switching power supplies, electric motors, IMUs, sensors, RF, and high-speed electrical signal characterization 
• Experience with development of automated test systems 
• Experience with incoming calibration checks and developing calibration procedures 
• Experience in reviewing requirements to support various test phases
