Grants Writer and Administrator
ELOS Environmental, an Aventia Company (ELOS) is seeking a full-time Grants Writer and Administrator. ELOS’s expertise is ensuring environmental compliance with Federal, State, and Local enforcement agencies. Our goal is to assist clients in developing an approach to environmental compliance that balances development with natural and cultural resources protection.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
- Research and identify potential grant funding opportunities for client.
- Create annual plans with targeted grant opportunities to meet the client’s priorities.
- Develop community profiles with plans, demographics, and other information that can form the basis of grant applications.
- Collaborate with program managers, staff, and stakeholders to gather necessary information for grant applications.
- Develop customized and comprehensive grant applications that include narratives, budgets, demographics, maps, and other supporting documentation. Applications typically focus on infrastructure and municipal/parish/county programs.
- Once awarded, manage the grant project, including schedule, budget, policies, procurement, contracts, reimbursements, and closeout.
- Manage compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Act as a client liaison with funding agencies and community organizations.
- Provide training to client on grant application basics, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience/Desired Skills:
- Proven experience in grant writing, preferably for a governmental entity and preferably for infrastructure projects. Nonprofit experience is also welcome.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Knowledge of project management and strategic planning.
- Proficient in conducting research and gathering data to support grant applications.
- Demonstrated experience managing grant awards from start to finish. Experience preferred for any or all of the following areas: updating policies, performing Davis-Bacon labor compliance, conducting environmental reviews or assessments, completing reimbursement requests, and managing federal property acquisition.
- Experience using grants.gov, GSA contractor, and other grant research and funding portals.
- Ability to discern achievable grant opportunities and guide the client on when to apply and when not to apply for specific grants.
- Ability to edit and proofread documents for accuracy and clarity.
- Ability to think creatively about how grants may be phased or leveraged with other funding opportunities to deliver affordable projects.
- Ability to work independently, showing strong initiative and attention to detail, and work collaboratively to complete applications and accomplish projects.
- Ability to create applications quickly if working with a pressing client need or short deadline.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $60,000 - 75,000
