Duties

Provides a wide variety of accounting, budgeting and financial management functions to a large installation, major command or headquarters. Applies accounting concepts to solve problems, render advice, or to meet other needs of the installation, Macom or Headquarters. Formulates budget guidance based on new or discontinued requirements and fiscal objectives. Develops program execution guidance, program review and evaluation. Contributes to the development of accounting and budget systems for use in meeting financial reporting requirements. May direct and administer audit activities. Directs, computes, analyzes, adjusts and presents statistical data to assure maximum benefit from financial resources. Directs subordinate staff.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Specialized experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties described above using the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to apply knowledge in reviewing, analyzing, revising, and recommending approval, disapproval or modification of budget requests and justifications. Documented experience must have been equivalent in complexity and difficulty to the next lower grade/level. Supervisory experience directing technical and professional financial management operations. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 1. A foundation of strong accounting education as evidenced by an accounting degree or a business degree that includes 24 semester hours of accounting curriculum (that may include 6 hours of business law). 2. Hospitality experience in a financial manager, controller, or accountant role. Hospitality operations management would also be considered as highly qualifying. 3.MWR financial management experience. 4.Systems administration skills for financial management, point of sale, inventory, reporting and databases. A resume may include key words such as expert, acquiring, installing, configuring, training, optimizing, etc.

Area of Consideration This job is open to The Public. The Duty Station for this position is located at Fort Sam Houston, TX. You will be expected to physically reside within commuting distance of Fort Sam Houston, TX. Situational telework can be provided for weather-related emergencies, office closures, or other situations where telework serves a compelling Agency need. PCS Costs Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest. Incentive Eligibility For the purpose of eligibility, a recruitment incentive is authorized for a newly hired employee, defined as an individual being hired to a NAF position for the first time, or one who is being reinstated or reemployed after a break in service of at least 1 year. For the purpose of eligibility, a relocation incentive is authorized for a current NAF employee to accept a RFT position in a different geographic area requiring a PCS move. The relocation must be without a break in service. The relocation incentive is additional to payments authorized for PCS movement. Allowances and Differentials This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
