We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our Entity Tax Services Group, to be based in our Andover, Boston, Providence, or Newport offices on a flexible hybrid basis.

As a key member of the Tax Team, the Senior Tax Manager will apply technical expertise and educational background across a wide range of client engagements. This role is central to our growing Tax practice, with responsibilities that include managing client relationships, overseeing technical tax work, and guiding staff. The Tax Team is dedicated to supporting clients with both tax compliance and strategic planning.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted tax advisor to corporate and pass-through clients, providing proactive planning strategies and clear, practical solutions.
  • Review and oversee preparation of complex federal and state business tax returns, including C Corporations (1120), S Corporations (1120S), and Partnerships (1065), with limited review of individual (1040) and fiduciary (1041) filings as needed.
  • Lead and review ASC 740 tax provision engagements, including effective tax rate analysis, deferred tax calculations, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Manage multi-state and international compliance, ensuring proper reporting of foreign activities (Forms 5471, 5472, GILTI, etc.) and consolidated returns.
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues, drafting concise memoranda and presenting recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop tax staff and managers, ensuring high-quality work and fostering professional growth.
  • Lead client tax planning and projection initiatives, including scenario modeling and identification of tax-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, manage engagement timelines and budgets, and collaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to practice management, including billing, profitability analysis, process improvement, and business development efforts.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in Taxation or related field preferred.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credentials are required.
  • 8+ years of public accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise in corporate and partnership taxation.
  • Proven experience managing complex engagements and supervising staff.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740, multi-state, and international tax compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with tax and accounting technology; experience with CCH Axcess, SurePrep, and XCM is highly preferred.

This is a full-time position with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours, including some evenings and weekends, will be required during peak busy seasons.

Pay Range:

The salary range for this position is included below. Individual salaries within this range do not include benefits and bonus potential, and are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.

$145,000.00 - $190,000.00
