Job Summary:

This is a full-time, long-term substitute position, which means you will be responsible for the full scope of the teacher's duties during their absence.

The Early Childhood Education program prepares students to understand and apply the principles of high-quality early childhood programming.
Students explore:

• Child development and learning theories
  
  
• Effective teaching strategies
  
  
• Professional standards established by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children)
  Through hands-on training, students gain classroom experience as student teachers in supervised early education settings.

We are seeking a long-term substitute teacher who brings either professional experience in early childhood education or a desire to explore teaching while sharing real-world knowledge with students. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the Weymouth Public Schools community and inspire future educators.

Qualifications:

• Preferred: Massachusetts DESE license (CTE or ECE, Grades 9–12)
• Minimum: Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
• Experience in childcare, preschool, or early education settings preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
• Passion for connecting classroom learning to real-world practice, as we have many students on cooperative education  placements
• Status: This is a full-time, long-term substitute position, which means you will be responsible for the full scope of the teacher's duties during their absence.

Pay Rate:

• Days 1–30: $134.25/day
  
  
• Days 31–60: $161.25/day
  
  
• 61+ days: TBD
