Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

First State Community Bank is seeking a results-driven and tech-savvy Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis efforts. This role will play a critical part in driving strategic decision-making through data-driven insights, while also championing the implementation of technology systems and process improvements across the accounting function.
Responsibilities in Accordance with Our Corporate Values
Professionalism
- Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Prepare and present monthly performance dashboards and variance reports.
Accountability
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner with IT and data governance teams to streamline data flows and automate manual processes.
- Champion the use of business intelligence platforms (e.g., DOMO, IBM Cognos) for real-time analytics.
Initiative
- Determine ways to align financial goals of other departments with operational strategies.
- Support M&A analysis, capital planning, and scenario modeling.
Adaptability
- Assist in board-level reporting and regulatory compliance documentation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations (e.g., 6-8 hours with breaks).
- Manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and telephone system.
- Visual acuity to read computer screens and written documents.
- Occasional lifting office supplies, files, and small packages (typically up to 10-25 lbs.).
