Position Duties

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Senior Center Manager. The Senior Center Manager will be tasked with managing the Center and its programs for the County. The duties associated with this position include overseeing the planning and implementation of classes, special events, live performances, and programs/classes at recreation centers for the community or seniors; developing a marketing plan and promoting programs and events; supervising facility repairs and safety protocols; managing related plans, budget, and staff; and performing community outreach activities. The Senior Center's Manager will be responsible for supervising the staff.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
• Senior Center at Cascades, Sterling, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Oversees the daily operations of the Center.
• Creates a management strategy and budget for the program.
• Creates and executes programs and events at the Senior Center.
• Directs the program staff at the Center, community diversion workers, and volunteers; provides coverage for volunteers, instructors, program staff, and maintenance staff as necessary.
• Oversees the care and maintenance of the Center facility.
• May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Gerontology, Social Work, or related field; three (3) years related work experience in program and facility management working with the public, groups, and organizations including one (1) year of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in social work, gerontology, recreation, or a human service field.

Other Qualifications

Must undergo fingerprinting, criminal, credit, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. Pass TB test within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter. OSHA (Bloodborne pathogens) training within 30 days of hire; MAT training, First Aid /CPR/AED, and ServSafe certifications within 90 days of hire; complete County e-learning, and supervisory training as required. Must annually complete a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.
