Harlan County Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with experience in X-ray and CT imaging to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in patient diagnosis and care by performing high-quality imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and supporting our physicians with accurate, timely results. 

Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures—including X-ray and CT—to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety, and a compassionate approach to patient care, while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations, including X-ray and CT scans, in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Operate imaging equipment and ensure proper positioning for high-quality diagnostic images. 
• Adhere to radiation safety and infection control standards to protect patients, staff, and self. 
• Prepare and educate patients for imaging procedures, addressing questions and concerns. 
• Accurately document all procedures and maintain records in the electronic health record (EHR). 
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. 
• Monitor and maintain equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly. 
• Participate in on-call rotations, responding to emergency imaging needs. 
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience. 
• Assist with inventory management and restocking of radiology supplies.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s degree or certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. 
• Previous experience in CT and general radiology preferred. 

Certifications and Licensure:

• ARRT certification required. 
• Nebraska Radiologic Technologist license required. 
• CT certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain. 
• BLS certification (within 30 days of hire).

Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. 
• Attention to detail and organizational strength. 
• Proficiency with imaging equipment and EHR systems. 

Physical Demands

• Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. 
• Perform duties in emergent situations requiring quick, sound decision-making. 
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff in a fast-paced environment. 

Working Conditions

• Hospital setting, including imaging and emergency departments. 
• Exposure to radiation and infectious diseases—strict adherence to safety protocols required. 
• Includes on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
