**Part-Time (not to exceed 20 hours per week)**
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide interpretation and translation support to the Special Programs Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Speak and Write English and Spanish Fluently
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work well with children, families, teachers, and department staff.
Knowledge of effective interpretation skills.
Knowledge of special education processes and terminology preferred.
Experience:
Some experience working with children or in a school environment preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Provide interpretation and translation services for Spanish-speaking students and their families in the school setting.
2. Provide interpretation services for speech therapy with the speech language pathologist at campuses with Spanish speech therapy.
3. Provide interpretation services at ARD meetings at various campuses as requested by diagnosticians and ARD managers.
4. Translate documents into Spanish as requested by Special Programs staff.
5. Assist evaluation staff in communicating with Spanish-speaking parents to review special education paperwork.
6. Exemplify high standards of ethical conduct as described in board policy.
7. Observe professional and ethical standards, in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Professional Educators Code of Ethics.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
