The Assistant Nurse Manager, in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, plans, organizes, directs and actively participates in the nursing care of patients, works with the multi-disciplinary team to manage the day-to-day operations of the service. This includes problem solving, coordination of assignments and patient placement, staffing, CI activities, facilitation of staff competency, validation and performance monitoring. The Assistant Nurse Manager acts as a role model and a mentor to staff.
Team Impact
- Supports the unit RN staff in coordination of the interdisciplinary team and patient education
- Collaborates with Director, Nurse Manager, CNS, and preceptor to coordinate orientation of new employees
- Assist with staffing adjustments on a shift-by-shift basis in collaboration with the Director, Nurse Manager, or Supervisor.

Responsibilities
- Provides Clinical supervision to staff and identifies performance issues to the Director or Nurse Manager.
- Demonstrates principles of Evidence Based Leadership.
- Completes and conducts selected performance appraisals within 60 days of anniversary date. Reviews appraisals with the Director for approval prior to meeting with employee.
- Collaborates in staff scheduling providing input into requests for variations
- Assist in CI Program for service.
- Assists and provides input into current policies and procedures.
- Provides clinical input for budget preparation.

- Maintains professional working relationships with peers, management, and customers at all times
- Incorporates organizational mission, vision, and values as well as the Code of Conduct in all actions and behaviors
Education/Experience:
- BSN required
- 3 years relevant clinical experience required.
- Previous leadership experience preferred
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- BLS certification
- Certification in specialty area preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to assume leadership role in nursing practice
- Ability to fulfill all duties and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse job description
- Ability to organize work, delegate effectively, and to assign, direct and evaluate the work of other employees
- Expert clinician in area of assignment
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with nurses and other members of the Interdisciplinary team

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $42.14 to $62.41 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
