About the Department
Renew provides a wide array of outpatient services to individuals with emotional, behavioral, and other mental and substance disorders, to enhance independent choice, satisfaction and optimum participation in the community, family, and employment or education environments. This position works within our medical team, providing hands-on patient care, coordinating telehealth appointment, scheduling appointments, and working with clinicians and primary care facilities. This position will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule to meet agency and client needs.
Position Duties
- Assists with the operation of the Agency’s medical services including triaging, scheduling, inventory of medications, and assisting medical staff and clinicians.
- Provide hands on direct care to individuals as delegated by the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, which may include but not limited to diabetic foot exams, taking vital signs, observing, and reporting clients’ signs and symptoms, client injections, in and out of the office.
- Responsible for scheduling intakes, rescheduling, setting up telehealth appointments and referrals to appropriate treatment providers.
- Coordinate necessary paperwork that must be completed prior to telehealth appointments and fax to designated location.
- Assist by completing healthcare assessment tools, as requested.
- Screens phone calls and provides assistance to pharmacies, when appropriate.
- Provide assistance to the Medical Providers when requested.
- Provides education and consultation to families and other support systems that enhance their understanding of and care for individuals served.
- Participates in team meetings as needed for coordination of individual care.
- Assures that all documentation and records meet Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Revised Codes of Washington (RCW), contract, and all other applicable Agency requirements.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with the community, medical, DCYF, schools, Juvenile, DSHS, and other county agencies, as appropriate, to ensure continuity of care for individuals served in Grant County.
- Assures services are provided which support the individual’s rights and are compatible with the particular culture and primary language of the individual.
- Actively participates in training and other meetings, whether in or out of the office, as requested.
- Traveling to other branch offices will be required to perform duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Medical Assistant credential in the state of Washington. Must maintain an active status;
- Strong physical assessment skills;
- Strong networking, organizational and time management skills;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Strong written and spoken communication skills;
- Strong personal computer operations skills including Word, Excel, Desktop Publishing;
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License: Must have proof of automobile insurance;
- Background Check: Must have an acceptable background report. This report will be repeated every three years throughout employment;
- Driving Abstract: Must have an acceptable driving report. This report will be repeated every three years;
- CPR/First Aid: Must acquire (within 6 months of hire) and maintain this certification; and
- Candidates are required to be bi-lingual in Spanish.
- Experience working in the behavioral health field. Full range of knowledge for the treatment of individuals with mental disorders; or
- Knowledge of County and Agency policies and procedures.
