Team Overview

Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) and Global Risk Analytics (GRA) and are sub-lines of business within Global Risk Management (GRM). Collectively, they are responsible for developing a consistent and coherent set of models, analytical tools, and tests for effective risk and capital measurement, management and reporting across Bank of America. GRA and EIT partner with the Lines of Business and Enterprise functions to ensure the capabilities it builds address both internal and regulatory requirements, and are responsive to the changing nature of portfolios, economic conditions, and emerging risks. In executing its activities, GRA and EIT drive innovation, process improvement and automation.

Job Description

This job is responsible for assessing a portfolio of bank processes -  including underlying data, flows, and controls - and designing and implementing modular, reusable software solutions to enhance Global Risk Management’s (GRM) capabilities in data, analytics and testing. The goal is to deliver timely, efficient, useful, and actionable independent insights into the operational health of these processes across domains and testing portfolios. 

Key responsibilities include collaborating with senior process owners, risk managers, and technologists to assess processes, underlying data, flows and risks, and to design the future state of data, analytics and testing. Job expectations include buidling deep  subject matter expertise in bank processes and data across domains, and applying a combination of software engineering, big data and risk management skills to automate the evaluation of processes and control effectiveness for a portfolio of processes, as well as ensuring that the testing portfolio has comprehensive coverage across applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates core EIT/GRA skills: critical thinking, decisiveness, leveraging enterprise, proactive project leadership, risk management, adaptability, collaboration, customer and client focus, effective communication (written and verbal), and control rigor and discipline.

  • Partners effectively with senior process and data owners across Front Line Units and Technology and serves as subject matter expert in specific business domains, bank processes. data flows, existing controls and testing requirements. Influences control design and testing strategy across portfolios.

  • Leads the design and implementation of high-quality, scalable software solutions that meet complex business, risk, and regulatory needs. Applies advanced software engineering and SDLC principles to drive automation and testing innovation.

  • Continuously evolves technical capabilities to align with evolving portfolios, changing economic conditions, emerging risks and advancements in data and technology. Champions adoption of modern tools and frameworks.

  • Leads design, development, documentation, and implementation of repeatable, robust and scalable solutions across testing portfolios.

  • Sources, integrates, and transforms large-scale structured and unstructured data. Builds and optimizes big data pipelines to support advanced analytics and testing.

  • Collaborates across Front Line Units, Technology, and Risk to shape testing strategies and ensure alignment with business priorities. Builds consensus and drives cross-functional initiatives.

  • Effectively communicates technical solutions and their business impact to diverse audiences, including senior leadership. Tailors messaging to influence decision-making and promote transparency.

  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrates deep understanding of banking processes, risk domains, and regulatory frameworks; influences control design and testing strategy across portfolios.

  • Process Design & Assessment: Leads the design and evaluation of end-to-end business processes, identifying control gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation and improvement   

  • Leadership: Provides technical and strategic guidance to teams; mentors junior staff, fosters collaboration, and drives continuous improvement across projects and portfolios.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degrees or above in fields including but not limited to: Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Process and Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science (or equivalent work experience)

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in software engineering in Quantitative Finance or other industries

  • Advanced programming skills (e.g. Python) and solid understanding of Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) principles

  • Proven track record of seamlessly leading and executing enterprise-wide initiatives

  • Strong ability to document and clearly articulate the rationale and impact of technical solutions to a wide range range of audiences

  • Demonstrated experience in at least three (preferably more) of these following areas:

- Leading complex analytical and problem-solving initiatives

- Applying advanced quantitative methods such as modeling, data analytics, machine learning, and statistics to solve business problems

- Deep knowledge of financial services industry and regulatory frameworks

- Engineering solutions for large-scale structured and unstructured data sets

- Driving process improvements and automation across business and technology functions

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$125,000.00 - $210,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
