Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has several openings for Principal Systems Engineers-Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads that are ready to work across functions to help drive hardware movement in the factory/test, document issues, drive improvement plans, and support ramp up to meet throughput requirements. These positions are located in Linthicum, MD.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility.
Interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.
Brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.
Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.
The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM-related discipline with 5 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 3 years industry experience (with a BS in a STEM field)
Active Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and obtain a SAP clearance for continued employment.
General knowledge of RF hardware design and manufacturing
6-months minimum team leadership experience in at least one of the following areas: project planning and management, operations / manufacturing support, vendor support, or engineering design.
6-months minimum working experience with knowledge of Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with hardware in the BWI factory and/or test cell(s)
Experience with REX (receiver/exciter) or general RF Integration and test for hardware
Experience reporting team/project status to functional or program management
Knowledge of return to green (RTG) plan approach and reporting status
Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Knowledge of the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process
PMP certification a plus
Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus
