What are we looking for in a Vice President?
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Behavioral Health Services to provide strategic and operational leadership across three counties, overseeing two core behavioral health outpatient clinics, and leading the development and launch of a new inpatient facility specializing in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment and medical detoxification.
This is a high-impact executive role requiring a strong blend of behavioral health expertise, operational excellence, business acumen, and leadership. The Vice President will supervise directors and ensure clinical, regulatory, and financial performance align with the organization’s mission, strategic goals, and community needs.
Vice President duties may include:
Strategic Leadership & Program Development
- Provide executive leadership across all behavioral health services spanning three counties.
- Lead the planning, development, and operational launch of a new inpatient SUD and medical detox facility.
- Translate strategic priorities into operational plans with measurable outcomes.
- Foster community and stakeholder partnerships to expand service reach and effectiveness.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee two established outpatient behavioral health clinics, ensuring compliance, clinical quality, and financial sustainability.
- Directly supervise Directors managing outpatient and SUD services.
- Directly supervise the Inpatient Directors for the new facility in Benton Franklin.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, budgets, and service outcomes; implement improvements as needed.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance
- Ensure all programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations including licensing and accreditation with Joint Commission Standards.
- Implement evidence-based practices and quality assurance protocols across programs.
Financial & Business Management
- Develop and manage budgets for multiple programs and sites.
- Collaborate with finance and executive leadership on business planning, contracts, and revenue strategies.
- Identify growth opportunities, including grants, contracts, and service expansion.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and support high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
- Mentor and develop program directors and clinical leaders.
- Promote staff engagement and professional development.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Behavioral Health, Public Administration, Health Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health services.
- Proven experience overseeing multi-site behavioral health and SUD programs.
- Demonstrated success in launching or managing inpatient treatment facilities (SUD, detox, or similar).
- Strong business acumen, including budgeting, contracting, and service line development.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC’s), managed care, and integrated care systems is a plus.
Work Environment & Travel:
- Requires frequent travel between county locations and facility sites.
- Primarily office-based with field-based responsibilities as needed.
