Job Summary
Supports manufacturing operations in an automotive stamping environment.
Duties
- Implement process improvements with regards to electrical control systems using all available current controls technologies.
- Maintain control systems to ensure manufacturing activities are in within specifications and interpret and apply specifications for manufacturability.
- Support maintenance activities in PM scheduling as well as training and developing maintenance technicians from a controls perspective.
- Collects, tracks, and advises on downtime issues and implements short and long-term solutions to minimize downtime.
- Manage and execute in-house projects for implementing new engineering changes that modify assembly processes and create / revise electrical drawings in AutoCad 2000 format.
- Develop and implement HMI / MMI interfaces for existing manufacturing systems.
- Liaise with vendors regarding software / hardware updates and troubleshooting systems.
- Other related activities related to the scope of the position.
Qualifications
- BS: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 3 years experience in a controls/robotic environment.

AS: Electronics Technology plus 5 years controls experience in a controls/robotics environment.

7+ years’ experience and training in a similar role and environment
Skills
- High skill set of PC and communication skills
- Strong proficiency with PLC (Siemens, Beckhoff, A-B Control Logix, RS View & Panel View), Siemens Step 7, Safety PLC’s (Pilz & Guard logix), Indramat Servo Drive systems, PanelBuilder, PPC & TWINCAT.
- Proficient in industrial control
- Proficient in AutoCAD electrical.
- Proficient in creating and following project management timelines.
- Ability to work in a team-based lean-manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work off shifts as required
- Ability to manage and document electrical & controls changes
- Ability to update and manage electrical prints
