in Anchorage or Juneau, Alaska

This position is open to Alaska Residents Only.

What You Will Be Doing: Are you an experienced Accountant looking to join a new, fun, and exciting team? If so, the Department of Family and Community Services is recruiting to fill an Accountant 4 within our Finance Unit.

If Cost Allocation and Federal reporting are skills you know or an area you are excited about learning, this is the position you want. Responsibilities include:

  • Administration of the department’s public assistance cost allocation plan
  • Adherence to federal regulations and ensure the integrity of the allocation processes
  • Serving as the Cost Allocation specialist for the department
  • Prepare the Title IV-E federal reports

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional level experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management.
 
Special Note:

“Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.

“Training” and “education” in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom, on-line, self-study, and on-the-job), from accredited and unaccredited sources, and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.
