Safety Specialist
MP Systems is seeking a proactiveand dedicated Safety Specialist to join our Safety Team. This role isfield-based and requires regular travel to various project sites acrossWisconsin and surrounding areas. The Safety Specialist will play a key role insupporting crews and leaders in the field, delivering training, guidingincident prevention efforts, and fostering a culture of safety leadership atevery level.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety assessments and safety conversations to ensure safe work practices and OSHA compliance across multiple job sites.
- Serve as an on-site safety resource for crews and supervisors, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
- Participate in daily morning safety meetings and job briefings to help teams identify hazards, facilitate discussion, and ensure risks are mitigated before work begins.
- Collaborate with branch leadership and frontline supervisors to embed safety into project planning, crew operations, and decision-making.
- Develop and deliver safety training sessions, including supporting onboarding of new employees and mentoring field personnel to become safety leaders.
- Partner with project teams to build site-specific safety plans that prevent incidents and build capacity to fail safely.
- Participate in incident investigations and event learnings; assist in root cause analysis and facilitate after-action reviews.
- Provide input and assist in the development and periodic review of company safety policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Work with team to analyze field trends, observations, and incident data to proactively identify and address recurring hazards or areas for improvement.
- Promote proper use and inspection of PPE, tools, and equipment.
- Support the rollout of safety initiatives, technologies, and improvement campaigns across branches.
- Document and report findings from site visits, trainings, and observations in a timely and organized manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in safety, construction management, or related field, or 5+ years of relevant field experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Confident communicator who can build trust and influence behavior throughout the organization.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the state.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, CHST, CUSP) preferred but not required.
