The role of Sourcing Manager works closely with the Sourcing leadership team to operationally manage the production of finished goods merchandise from overseas vendors, to establish sound relationships with vendors, to analyze and negotiate prices, and monitor/replenish product inventory to the level required to meet the corporate sales and inventory plan set forth by the industry growth rate. This is a hybrid role; we work on site 4 days, and remotely 1 day, weekly.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Track and monitor production at the PO level and monitor any issues that would delay the production of finished goods. Coordinate with the Asia team to review and manage delivery plans.
  • Works as a liaison between Design, Product Development, Product Management and Marketing on launches of new products.
  • Collaboratively assist Design, Product Development and Quality Assurance in assessing production efficiency of designs.
  • Track shipments / delivery of raw materials to support production plans.
  • Partner with Sales Planning in analyzing current and future planned orders against forecasts and inventory plans to assist vendors in planning with future finished good requirements.
  • Manage the releases of firm Purchase Orders to vendors for various types of ordering for finished goods.
  • Partner with Asia teams to analyze costs, shorten lead-times, and ensure proper QC on production.
  • Involvement in ongoing Cost Reduction / Margin improvement initiatives.
  • Issues necessary charge-backs for problem resolution.
  • Collaboratively coordinate the use of obsolete Raw Materials to Vendors
  • Coordinate requests from inter-departmental teams for samples to support shows, sales meetings and special projects.
  • Travels to Asia to support the relationships of the Asia PD, Asia production, and Asia QC staff as well as overseas suppliers.
  • Assist in the development timelines to support production schedules to meet launch deadlines.
  • Manage timeline with collaborative partners.
  • Provides direction to the Sourcing Asia and PD staff.
  • Manages and tracks cost changes.
  • Liaison between Marketing, Asia PD in the development of collateral materials with overseas suppliers.
  • Coordinates with the Import / Traffic department on inbound shipments requirements.

 

Qualifications

We’re Excited if You Have:

  • Knowledge of International trade and Asian business customs.
  • Cut and Sew industry experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proactive, flexible, and collaborative; able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with a problem-solving attitude and ability to influence others.
  • Experience in product development, purchase order, and inventory management; SAP knowledge a plus
  • Cost analysis skills a plus.
  • Expert MS Office user, especially Excel.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically, up to 4 times per year.
