Job Description Summary:

Responsible for ensuring an adequate supply of essential materials and services necessary for business operations. This includes managing inventory levels, preparing detailed specifications for required products or services, conducting tender processes with potential suppliers, evaluating bids, and negotiating pricing. Depending on the company size, a purchasing agent may work independently or as part of a team. Final purchasing decisions are often referred to as a manager or executive for approval.

Responsibilities:

• Achieve specific procurement goals within the assigned area and contribute to improving existing procurement procedures.

• Identify contract requirements and develop detailed specifications for a small portfolio or business area, covering both existing and new contracts.

• Manage day-to-day relationships with contract service providers, ensuring delivery of outcomes according to the established contract management plan.

• Execute category goals aligned with the organization’s procurement and sales strategies, while identifying opportunities to improve category plans or programs.

• Collect and analyze key cost drivers, market trends, innovations, and alternative suppliers for medium-risk categories, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to provide actionable market insights.

• Manage budgets for designated areas or conduct complex budget analyses to monitor progress in other organizational units.

Requirements:

• University degree (bachelor's or equivalent) required.

• Experience sufficient to handle most situations independently and provide advice to others.

• Experience supervising and mentoring junior colleagues.

• Operates autonomously, offering technical guidance on costing, budgeting, and finance tasks when needed.

• Applies comprehensive knowledge and negotiation skills independently, while guiding and training others to achieve consensus among internal or external stakeholders with differing interests.

• Works independently and provides technical support on data trend analysis to generate reports that inform decision-making.

• Independently develops plans or takes necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements, providing guidance as needed.

• Reviews and produces clear, relevant, and effective reports with minimal supervision.

• Supports business processes using standard office equipment and software proficiently and provides training and guidance to colleagues.
