  Job Summary:

  Manage and guide the overall direction, design, development, execution, testing and implementation activities for projects using project software, internal processes, and appropriate standards and policies for the Information Technology Division.  Manage and control project plans and budgets and provide updated status reports to management.

  Essential Functions:

Lead in the planning and implementation of projects. Manage the tracking of projects and development of status reports on the progress of projects. Lead the establishment of milestones and deliverables and identify necessary resources and support to achieve acceptable service level expectations. Serve as the lead with building and monitoring cross-divisional teams to attain those service levels.

Assist users with the creation and maintenance of Project Request or Charters. Work closely with the Business Analyst group to create business requirements.  Create and maintain other project-related artifacts associated with each project effort, as needed.

Collaborate on the establishment of project standards and guidelines. Assist leadership to achieve project completion goals and objectives. Collaborate with managers who are allocating tasks and responsibilities so that multiple projects can be accomplished simultaneously. Try to anticipate obstacles, barriers or gaps and work to continuously improve organizational capability to deliver results.  May

identify staff training needs to meet service levels. Lead in communicating with key stakeholders and others involved in the project.  Maintain strong liaison with the university community.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Position Information:

Education:

Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree.

Licenses/Certifications/Requirements:

Project Management Professional Certification from Institute and/or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.

 Experience:

Requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience working within IT in systems development and programming along with an understanding of computer and enterprise systems and relational databases.  A minimum of 3 years of experience managing projects, preferably in a technology field, with evidence of increasing levels of responsibility and project complexity. 

Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively conduct presentations required.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.  Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and stakeholders.
