SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Inventory Manager is to maintain inventory accuracy and monitor internal controls related to inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Warehouse Inventory Standards.
- Design, develop and maintain internal control systems to minimize inventory variances.
- Review the results of daily cycle counts with the Controller and Warehouse Management to ensure a proper reconciliation.
- Act as a resource related to researching inventory variances. This includes specialized knowledge in areas such as PO Receipts, Location Moves, Transfers, Returns to Suppliers, etc.
- Maintain and meet expectations of inventory variances within the required monthly budget.
- Ensure daily inventory cycle counts are performed and all significant variances are investigated and resolved.
- A minimum of 80 cycle counts per day must be performed to provide adequate count coverage of the inventory.
- The frequency of counts will be based on sales velocity of individual items to ensure we have adequate count coverage of all items in inventory over the course of a month.
- In addition to daily cycle counts, the following counts should be performed daily:
- Any significant variances identified during previous counts.
- Items with negative inventory or low inventory (less than 5 cases) to avoid pick errors or Vertique issues.
- Items appearing on the Old Beer Report to avoid rotational issues.
- A full dunnage inventory count will be conducted once a month.
- Cycle counts will be required on weekends periodically to attain adequate count coverage.
- Results of daily counts should be reviewed with the Controller and Warehouse Manager. This includes addressing the following type of issues:
- Timeliness of product put-aways
- Location moves by replenishment personnel
- Adequacy of the check in process
- Other internal control issues detected.
- A minimum of 80 cycle counts per day must be performed to provide adequate count coverage of the inventory.
- Manage the physical inventory process which includes staffing, organizing the counting process, and researching variances identified.
- Physical Inventories will be conducted a minimum of 3x per year including year-end.
- Additionally, a Physical Inventory will be triggered within 30 days if the inventory variance exceeds more than $5000 during a rolling 60-day period.
- Advise purchasing manager of any excessive inventory positions.
- Cross-train warehouse management on cycle counts to ensure adequate coverage in your absence and for physical inventories.
- Maintain records of inventory adjustments (Phyvar/Breakage/Repack/etc..) as required by company policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Obey all federal, state and local laws.

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Repetitive, routine, or semi-routine duties involving the use of numerous established clerical, statistical, and/or other general procedures involving average detail and variation where the employee is responsible for recognition of previously defined sets of circumstances and correct choice of actions within limits of clearly prescribed standard practices and procedures, requiring the making of contingency decisions and the use of some judgment.

Errors could cause some internal confusion and delay or cause customer or supplier complaints but could be detected and adjusted with little difficulty. Corrections would involve backchecking by others and would involve some moderate monetary losses. Most work verified or checked either by systems and procedures, or supervision.
